Establishing the ProAm Dance Business in Europe
The new ProAm Committee, led by Mark Rudi aims to establish unified rules and develop the ProAm dance business in Europe, involving experts from several countries to drive its future growth.
On July 3, 2024, the European Confederation of DanceSport took a major step forward with the inaugural meeting of its ProAm Committee.
ProAm, with its unique set of rules, levels, events, and awards, originated in the USA and is now establishing its foundation in Europe. Currently, each tournament follows its own rules, and there is a lack of standardized judging criteria, incentives, and recognition. For ProAm to thrive in Europe, it requires a cohesive structure.
The newly formed committee, led by Mark Rudi — a seasoned professional dancer, coach, and multiple national champion from Germany — will address these issues. With expertise and leadership, Rudy aims to shape the future of ProAm in Europe.
The committee includes specialists from Germany, Israel, Estonia, and Ukraine, with a consultant from the United States offering insights from ProAm’s origins. Their goal is to create unified rules and introduce this exciting trend to Europe’s competitive ballroom dancing landscape.
With this committee in place, ProAm is set to become a well-organized and widely recognized discipline across Europe.
