ECDS — European Confederation of Dance Sports

First ECDS Online Forum Unites 15 European Countries

The first ECDS forum, with 15 countries, discussed creating a unified dance space, shared rules, and a competition calendar. Future plans include a judges' congress and a competition database.

The first online forum of the European Confederation of Dance Sport (ECDS) brought together representatives from 15 countries: Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Moldova, Ukraine, Wales, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. The main topic of discussion was the creation of a unified dance space with a career progression system. Participants recognized the need for standardized requirements, levels, and rules for all categories, including dancers, coaches, judges, and competition organizers.

An agreement was reached to establish a unified calendar and database to process the results of all competitions. The representation of only one organization per country not only supports the development of each national organization but also complies with European sports regulations. The ultimate goal of the ECDS is to gain membership in the European Olympic Committee.

In the near future, plans include holding a unified congress for judges. National organizations interested in joining the ECDS are invited to fill out the application form via the provided link.
